User workshop to demonstrate two prototypes to end users
The main purpose of the workshop was to obtain feedback from a range of key stakeholders, including practitioners, managers and policy makers on the two prototypes developed by TUG and FHNW.
Participants who attended the workshop represented guidance organisations from Scotland and England. Scotland offers an all-age service. For England, practitioner representatives came from guidance organisations for young people. From the adult guidance sector in England, policy makers were present. Ten practitioners/managers attended, together with two national policy makers.
A broad overview of the project aims and objectives was presented. Participants were encouraged to focus on ‘future perspectives and new possibilities’ for constructing ICT support systems to inform and support the use of labour market information (LMI) in a guidance context. In particular, judgements about the efficacy of the prototypes and their potential application by individuals in an organisational context were required. Brief background to the design process and how this aligned to a knowledge maturing knowledge was provided.
Detailed feedback was gathered, with positive indications that end users would find these developments useful.
